Directed by Sherry Lutken
Music Direction by David M. Lutken
Stage Manager: Kate McSorley Fossner
Approximate running time: 75 minutes

Fan-favorite troubadour David M. Lutken leads an ensemble of musicians for two virtual hootenannies - and y'all are invited! Each of these FREE special events includes a mix of pre-recorded songs, live jam sessions, and requests from the audience. Featuring performances by Eric Anthony, Brittany Brook, Maggie Hollinbeck, David Lutken, Andy Teirstein, and Spiff Wiegand, many of whom you might know from recent productions like Woody Sez or Ring of Fire.

If you've never attended a live Hootenanny before, here's how they usually go: after a performance, we invite the audience to stay behind and jam with the cast. We play some tunes, learn a few songs from the master, drink a few beers with our friends, and go to bed feeling joyful. This virtual hootenanny-at-home will be a first for everyone involved, so join us for this experiment to help lighten our hearts (and yours!) during this difficult time. Watch, listen, and bring your voice or favorite instrument to play and sing along. Only the musicians will be seen or heard throughout the live-streamed event, so show up when you can and leave when you need to. We just ask that you register in advance so we can get a headcount.

The song list will include favorites such as:

"Hand Me Down My Walking Cane"
"Columbus Stockade Blues"
"Get Along Home, Cindy"
"The Black Velvet Band"
"Worried Man Blues"
"Shenandoah"
"Shine On Harvest Moon"
"Hard Times Come Again No More"
"My Home’s Across The Blue Ridge Mountains"
"Stag-O-Lee"
"Birmingham Jail"

…and more

“There’s only one rule at a Hootenanny: if you know the words, you have to sing! And the corollary to that is—once we’ve done the chorus ten or fifteen times, you ought to know the words!” - David Lutken
