Directed by Sherry Lutken
Music Direction by David M. Lutken
Stage Manager: Kate McSorley Fossner
Approximate running time: 75 minutes

American Music is the best history book of all. For the weekend of Independence Day, David Lutken and the "Seat Of Their Pants Band" play and sing songs of 'Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.'

Sing along to American melodies from all over the country, such as: "Yankee Doodle", "Liberty", "The New Colossus", "Keep On the Sunny Side", "We're in the Same Boat Brother", "City of New Orleans", and "The Times They Are A-Changin'".

This FREE special event includes a mix of pre-recorded songs, live jam sessions, and requests from the audience. Featuring performances by Brittany Brook, Michael Hicks, Maggie Hollinbeck, David Lutken, Andy Teirstein, and Spiff Wiegand, many of whom you might know from recent productions like Woody SezRing of Fire, and Our Town.

Watch, listen, and bring your voice or favorite instrument to play and sing along. Only the musicians will be seen or heard throughout the live-streamed event, so show up when you can and leave when you need to. We just ask that you register in advance so we can get a headcount.

“There’s only one rule at a Hootenanny: if you know the words, you have to sing! And the corollary to that is—once we’ve done the chorus ten or fifteen times, you ought to know the words!” - David Lutken
