Joanna Murray-Smith

(She/her) Joanna Murray-Smith’s plays have been produced and translated all over the world, in over two dozen languages, including on Broadway, the West End and at the Royal National Theatre in London. Her plays include the upcoming Julia at the Sydney Opera House in 2023, Berlin, Honour, Switzerland, Songs for Nobodies, American Song, The Female of the Species, Ninety, Bombshells, The Gift, Three Little Words, Rockabye, Pennsylvania Avenue, True Minds, L’Appartement, Day One-A-Hotel-Evening, Fury, Rapture, Nightfall, Redemption and Love Child, amongst others. Joanna has also adapted Hedda Gabler (Australia) and Ingmar Bergman’s Scenes from a Marriage for Sir Trevor Nunn (Coventry/London). Her screen adaptation of Switzerland is shooting in 2023 with Dame Helen Mirren in the lead role, to be directed by Anton Corbijn. She is also a librettist, screenwriter and novelist. She has been nominated for and won many awards.
