Summer's lease hath all too short a date, indeed. But we were fortunate to capture Shakespeare in Love on film – all of the music, poetry, 16 cast members (15 humans, 1 dog), soaring architecture, and dozens of costumes that made it shine – before its sadly early final curtain.

The filming was the result of a monumental effort that took place over just 72 hours. Thanks to quick thinking and cooperation from the entire team, the cast and crew came together for one last performance only 3 days after the decision was made to end Shakespeare in Love almost 3 weeks early. Like the stars that they are, they performed with spirit and humor to multiple camera and sound operators and a few supportive family members (spread more than 6 feet apart!) in an otherwise empty theatre, as if it were a sold-out crowd.

We're grateful to everyone involved for their dedication and unbreakable spirit, and proud to share this production with ticketholders. After all, as Philip Henslowe likes to remind us:
