Please note that the video of Shakespeare in Love was only available to ticketholders until April 12, and we can no longer legally distribute it. We apologize that we were unable to share this recording with a wider audience, due to the terms of agreement with the various rights-holders involved with this production. We appreciate your understanding and are continuously grateful for your enthusiastic support.

Summer's lease hath all too short a date, indeed. But we were fortunate to capture Shakespeare in Love on film – all of the music, poetry, 16 cast members (15 humans, 1 dog), soaring architecture, and dozens of costumes that made it shine – before its sadly early final curtain.

The filming was the result of a monumental effort that took place over just 72 hours. Thanks to quick thinking and cooperation from the entire team, the cast and crew came together for one last performance only 3 days after the decision was made to end Shakespeare in Love almost 3 weeks early. Like the stars that they are, they performed with spirit and humor to multiple camera and sound operators and a few supportive family members (spread more than 6 feet apart!) in an otherwise empty theatre, as if it were a sold-out crowd.

We're grateful to everyone involved for their dedication and unbreakable spirit, and proud to share this production with ticketholders. After all, as Philip Henslowe likes to remind us:

"Let me explain about the theatre business. The natural condition is one of insurmountable obstacles on the road to imminent disaster … But it always works out in the end."
