Sweat
January 16 February 17
"You don't see the young guys out there with their Wharton MBAs. They don't wanna get their feet dirty, their diplomas soiled with sweat..."

Winner of the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and nominated for the 2017 Tony Award for Best Play, Sweat is an extensively researched portrait of Reading, PA and an incisive examination of deindustrialized America. Two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage is “at the peak of her powers” (The New York Times) as she encapsulates our current moment in a highly relatable and gripping drama.

Drinks & Dramaturgy

Arrive early to enjoy beer or wine from concessions while exploring the dramaturgy display in the lobby, which features the final exhibition of "I Am Coatesville Steel" courtesy of photographer Darcie Goldberg and the Stewart Hudson Charitable Trust. This project captures portraits of steel workers to create a photographic record through the lens of contemporary artists, and the photos are accompanied by a 25-minute documentary by Elkin Jaramillo. The exhibit was on view this past fall in Coatesville, then traveled to the Chester County Historical Society, and we are proud to host it throughout the run of Sweat.
