Weekly Saturday classes give young theatre-makers the tools to develop their skills and confidence. Over the course of the winter session, students work together to create and perform their own stories, guided by professional teaching artists. Registration is open now!

Grades 6–8: Making a Scene!

Eight Saturdays, February 15–April 5
11:45am–1:45pm

$300

Veteran actor, teaching artist and clown extraordinaire Cas Koenig leads a dive into the world of devised theatre. What is devised theatre? An ensemble-based art form created by actors, for actors. Take the playful humor of “Whose Line Is It Anyway,” combine it with the adventurous spirit of D&D and the heart-pounding drama of any great Anime film, and you’ll have the ingredients for this class. Through story prompts, long-form improv games and scene study, students will hone their skills as collaborative artists. Working together to generate character, dialogue and plot, this acting class will ignite the imagination, open students to the incredible power of “what if?” thinking, and allow them to courageously inhabit worlds of their own creation with curiosity and joy.
