This series of single-day masterclasses is a chance for high school theatre-makers to try it all. Each class is led by a professional theatre artist, sharing a distinct area of expertise. Workshops take place at People's Light in Malvern, PA.

An exciting offering from People’s Light frequent collaborator and Music Director Brigitte Rottman. Get a glimpse into the inner workings of a professional rehearsal process in this unique exploration of voice, character, and musicality. Students will learn to analyze a song, applying the same tools and techniques we use in rehearsal for our mainstage musicals. Discover a new level of specificity in your storytelling as you apply advanced singing and acting techniques that break a song down and build it back up again into an unforgettable work of art.

Saturday, November 14, 2:00–5:00pm
Join frequent artistic collaborator and West Chester University theatre professor Charlie DelMarcelle in a joyful exploration of the actor’s instrument. Discover the power of gesture, tempo, and use of space in a masterclass that combines movement with text. Charlie guides young performers through Laban-based exercises that allow them to more fully embody a character, express emotion with authenticity and ease, and project confidence and clarity onstage. Give your teen the gift of an afternoon with this expert actor, director and teaching artist, who will gently dip their toes into college-level curriculum, while leading with laughter, wisdom and curiosity.
