Step into the spotlight.
Join us for this advanced, conservatory-style acting program for teens. Aspiring actors will rehearse and train to level up their skills, working toward a final performance of scenes from Moisés Kaufman's landmark modern American play, The Laramie Project.
Auditions for this Performance Lab are closed, but you can now sign up to audition for our next Advanced Performance Lab: Little Shop Teen Takeover, happening this summer!

CONTENT DISCLOSURE AND PROGRAM GOALS
The Laramie Project is a play based on real life events and historical interviews surrounding the murder of Matthew Shepard. The piece deals with several potentially triggering themes, including violence, bigotry, hate-speech and death.
This production will challenge young people to wrestle with advanced dramatic content in a safe and supportive environment. Participants can expect to work alongside experienced teaching artists and industry professionals who will guide them through a challenging creative process to stage a high quality dramatic reading.
Our highest priority is the growth of our performers. In order for each individual to maximize their potential, we must first build a strong ensemble. It is essential that students attend all required rehearsals, and commit to rehearsing and analyzing material outside of class to optimize rehearsal time. Students will be assigned and coached on material that stretches them artistically and technically. If you are a driven young performer with a passion for social justice, this is a wonderful opportunity to exercise your voice as an artist/activist.
