Round One NPF playwright, actor/writer/singer-songwriter.Finalist, Pulitzer Prize Drama,  Bulrusher; wrote and starred in Angela’s Mixtape, named a best of year by The New Yorker. Other plays: Ramp (Ruby Prize), The History of Light, Paper Armor, Umkovu, Six Minutes, Warriors Don’t Cry, and collaborations Active Ingredients and Hip Hop Anansi. Currently writing musicals Flowers are Sleeping and Devil In A Blue Dress; contributed an episode to upcoming Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It.  Awards: Herb Alpert Award in Theatre; Helen Merrill Award, Whitfield Cook award of New Dramatists, where she was a resident playwright. Fellowships: Sundance/UCross, Yaddo, MacDowell Colony, Cave Canem, and  Doris Duke, Van Lier and Mellon Foundations. Member: The Actors Studio, a Usual Suspect at New York Theater Workshop, and was a Symphony Space artist-in-residence.
