Save the date! 2008 People’s Light Classic Please join us for the 6th People’s Light Classic to benefit Project Discovery, the nationally recognized arts education programs of People’s Light & Theatre. This year’s event will be held at the beautiful ACE Club in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania. The 260 acre course designed by Gary Player and Warren Henderson features gently rolling hills, beautiful streams, picture-perfect lakes, mature trees, open ground, unspoiled wetlands habitat, and natural rock outcroppings. Player’s design provides a fair test and enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities. The course ranges from nearly 7,500 yards at the tips to just over 5,200 yards from the forward tees with a 594-yard, par five 16th hole. The Golf Association of Philadelphia recently gave The ACE Club a rating of 76.1, the highest course rating in the area. Its slope was rated fourth highest at 146. For the past 20 years through Project Discovery, People's Light has focused on bridging the gaps in arts education throughout schools and neighborhoods, many in underserved areas, in the greater Philadelphia region. Project Discovery is the largest, most comprehensive theatre education program in Pennsylvania and one of the largest in the nation. Reaching over 25,000 each year, this program encourages young people and adults to be engaged, to be creative and to be committed learners and citizens through the experiences of seeing and making theatre. Project Discovery fosters genuine artistic collaboration among theatre artists and members of the community and provides a creative, diverse and supportive environment where participants can take risks and grow. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to “play for art” and support this remarkable program.
